11 Time World Barrel Racing Champion, Hall of Famer, Business Woman, Teacher, Mentor and Mom, and Charmayne James is just getting started....

Charmayne set herself apart from competitors in more ways than just on the clock. Throughout her career, Charmayne’s devotion to her horses was evident, training the legendary horse, Scamper and advocating for putting horses first. This brilliance to think outside the box and seek answers from leading experts paired with her God-given abilities, fighting spirit and tough resolve lead her to the magical number 11, and current title of 11-Time World Champion, Barrel Racer.

Her talent, unbridled passion for the sport and 'never quit' attitude pushed her forward and into the hearts and minds of fans all over the world. Behind the glitz and the winners' circles, her career was mapped out by long trips on the road with little more than a trailer to call home.

After winning her eleventh world title in 2004, Charmayne was able to retire and devote her time to her two passions; her family, and her love of rodeo. She has worked alongside her husband, Tony Garritano in building a better and brighter future for rodeo athletes, while devoting time to her children, Tyler and Austin, supporting them and their success in baseball and all their endeavors, just like her mother, her supported her every step of the way.

Since retiring Charmayne remains busier than ever. In addition to her tireless work furthering the sport of rodeo, she is close to publishing a children’s book about Scamper and teaches barrel racers across the country, the techniques and discipline that helped her become a champion.

By following her passion, Charmayne built that teaching into a successful business all the while, helping people and their horses. She created a line of saddles and gear, C11, designed with the rider and horse in mind for comfort and competitive edge.

Charmayne has taken on the challenge to achieve the same level of success as a Coach and mentor that she realized as a competitor
