I designed these lightweight bits to work on most barrel horses. Many new comers to the sport are overwhelmed by all the bits on the market I have found that these will work on a variety of horses and they feel comfortable in the rider's hands. The horses like it too!

It is a great turning bit and a good stopper. Choose from three types. The Barrel Racer 7/16" Copper Dogbone. #260.  Features a dogbone mouthpiece that lies comfortably across the horse’s mouth and applies mild pressure to the tongue.  The sliding action of the shanks provides poll control, flexion, and helps to engage the hindquarters.  The shanks and the purchase are the same length which is great for collection.” –  #262, The 7/16" Sweet Iron Snaffle with a 5.5" mouth is slightly curved and ideal for any horse.  The sliding action of the shanks provides poll control, flexion, and helps to engage the hindquarters.  The shanks and the purchase are the same length which is great for collection and #261 the Barrel Racer Twisted Wire Dogbone a popular choice for young horses.  It is a good transition from the D-Ring Snaffle and allows more bend and control.  The sliding action of the shanks provides poll control, flexion and helps to engage the hindquarters.
